"Hello! My family consists of my husband, myself, our adopted son (2 years old), and our 2 foster boys (1 year old and 10 months old). We are looking for a volunteer for a couple of things. Most days I am by myself as my husband works nights and when he is not working he is asleep. So getting to take the boys to different activities in Spokane is rare because it's often too hard for me to take all 3 by myself. We would love to be able to do things like check out the Mobius Discovery Center and spend time at one of the children's areas at the library or even have someone who might be willing to watch the boys for an evening, so my husband and I could have a date night. We are looking for a volunteer who can be our support through texts and calls as we navigate raising 3 boys at such young ages!" Dishman Family
"Hi! I am a single parent of 4 (sometimes more :)) who is looking for a volunteer to help support my family. I have an adult daughter living at home, then my 2 adopted sons (aged 9 and 14) and my foster daughter who is now almost 10 months old! My 9 year old had a liver transplant this summer and is now finally enjoying good health, he has been very ill for many years. My 14 year old is on the spectrum, and is a unique, sweet boy who really misses his bio father (who is not safe for him). Middle school has been a difficult transition for him. My boys would love to have more exposure to community outings, and have no behavior concerns. Their favorite things are Pokemon, Fortnight and Star Wars. They love trampoline parks and swimming. My foster daughter is medically fragile due to her g-tube and other health conditions, but is making great progress. She is always in need of diapers and wipes. Thanks for considering my family!" |

"Hi there! We are a family of 8- 4 bio kids ranging in age from 12 down to 5 as well as two foster daughters that are sisters, ages 3 and 4. We homeschool our bio children and are stretched pretty thin trying to maintain that program while also providing some quality outings for our foster daughters. We honestly would love someone to simply help spend some one on one time with them- playing with them, doing crafts, and being an extra set of hands when we have outings. Or even to help to watch them for date nights as our family support often has difficulty watching all the kids!" Five Mile Prairie Family
"We would be grateful for the gift of time and service if anyone loves children and would like to support us by helping around the house. We are an active family with 7 children (2, 3, 4, 7, 10, 13, and 16) and are happy to keep our home open to foster toddlers! We definitely need support keeping up with it all! We are looking for a volunteer that can give emotional and relational support to us and the kids over financial support. Thanks for considering our family!" Cheney Family
“We are a big family of almost 10! The kiddos range from 6-14. We have been on the waitlist since early 2021 hoping to find our relational support. COVID was very tough on our family and I ended up leaving my job to homeschool everyone full time. Our kids need some extra attention and really look forward to having activities and outings just for them. We would love more people in our support network and can't wait to find the right person to welcome into our busy life!” |
